Your detailed fitness information stays under your control. Greasit can sync app data through your private iCloud database, can send limited pseudonymous app analytics only when you allow it, and sends only the information needed when you choose Buddy. This page explains each use.
On first launch, Greasit asks whether you want to allow limited analytics. No analytics SDK is started and no analytics event is sent before you choose “Allow limited analytics.” If you decline, Greasit continues to work normally without analytics. You can change your choice at any time under You → Privacy → Limited analytics.
When allowed, Greasit uses PostHog EU Cloud to process limited analytics under a persistent pseudonymous device identifier and an automatically generated session identifier. We use these events only for Greasit analytics and reliability: to find onboarding drop-off, diagnose purchase and restore reliability, and understand whether workouts and other core features work as intended.

The network request necessarily includes an IP address. PostHog may use it to derive coarse location before processing the event. Greasit does not collect precise GPS location for analytics.
We do not send your email address, phone number, advertising identifier, precise GPS location, onboarding answer values, detailed workout history, payment-card details or buddy messages to PostHog. We do not use these analytics for advertising or cross-app tracking.
PostHog person profiles, session replay, automatic screen capture, automatic element capture, feature flags, surveys and automatic error capture are disabled in the app.
Turning Limited analytics off stops future collection immediately and removes analytics events still queued on your device. It does not automatically erase events already delivered; email greasit@yuzi.nl if you want us to help with a deletion request.
Buddy is optional. Greasit does not register you with the Buddy server merely because its card appears on Home. Registration begins only when you explicitly open or use Buddy, and sends a public signing key, an under-18/adult eligibility band, your time zone and the iOS platform; the server assigns a pseudonymous device identifier and a generated Buddy nickname. Your profile name is not sent. A push-notification token may later be associated with that identifier.
If you start matchmaking, we also send your selected contract length, onboarding fitness level, time zone and a rest pattern if supplied.
After you start a buddy contract, we sync the minimum we need to keep you both accountable:
We never sync your detailed workout history, schedule or health details through the buddy system.
There is no sign-up, and Greasit does not ask for an email address, password or phone number. If you allow analytics, your device creates a pseudonymous analytics identifier; the Buddy system uses a separate pseudonymous identifier. These identifiers are not intended to identify you directly, but they are still treated as personal data where privacy law applies. We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
If you enable reminders and buddy alerts, we use Apple Push Notification service with a pseudonymous device token. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings.
YUZI is the data controller. PostHog is our analytics processor and a recipient of the limited analytics described above. Analytics are processed using PostHog's EU Cloud. Read PostHog's privacy notice for more information.
We process app analytics only with your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time under You → Privacy without affecting your ability to use Greasit. We keep pseudonymous analytics only while they remain useful for the stated purposes, and we periodically review and delete data that is no longer needed.
Buddy records are retained while needed to operate Buddy and after contracts for safety, abuse prevention, dispute handling and service integrity. This can include pseudonymous device records, pact membership and contracts, check-ins, matching tickets, invitation records and codes, nudges, reports and blocks. We keep these records only as long as needed for those purposes.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict its processing, withdraw consent or object to certain processing. Because analytics records are pseudonymous and Greasit does not collect your contact identity, we may be unable to link an analytics record to your email address without additional information from your device. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority or your local supervisory authority.
Greasit is not directed at children. Random Buddy matching is restricted to adults aged 18 and over. People under 18 can only pair by exchanging an invite code with someone they already know.
